Definition

(a) The total volume of sewage generated is the sum of the water flow contaminated with liquid or solid substances created from human living or economic activities(“wastewater”), rainwater, and groundwater that flow from buildings, roads, and other facilities to sewerage systems.
(b) Wastewater generation refers to the amount of wastewater discharge from wastewater discharge facilities due to production activities. That is, (b) refers to the total generation of wastewater including wastewater reused at the final discharging point after treatment but excluding wastewater recirculated or reused before it is introduced to wastewater treatment or within the treatment process.
